- Get Your Body in Shape
Express Exercise Strategies: Intensify your daily exercise routine and concentrate on those areas that will be revealed or accentuated by the evening dress: shoulders, arms, bust, waist line and bum.
Work out every day for at least 15-30 minutes. Since muscles get used to the usual exercises and stop responding as well as before, alternate your exercise routine. For example, if you usually do your abdominal exercises lying on the floor, switch to a vertical position and do boxing with weights targeting your side muscles and working on your arms.
Remember, lunges and squats are the secret to beautifully shaped Hollywood thighs and bum. Do an extra set of those every day.
Fitness experts recommend exercising in the morning. This way you will start your metabolism early on and stimulate it for a longer period so that you can burn more calories during the day. It is also believed that if you have your morning caffeine fix just 30 minutes before work-out it will help you to burn fat when exercising.
Diet: Stay away from salty foods. Salt causes your body to retain water. Don’t indulge in simple carbs. These contain a lot of empty calories and mess up your blood sugar level. Keep to a healthy assortment of vegetables, fruit and lean protein.
De-bump: Treat the problem areas. Start religiously applying anti-cellulite solution and massaging those problem cellulite prone areas on your thighs, waist, bum and upper-arms. A week Before the Event
- Get the Glow
Start using self-tanning products to dazzle everyone at the party with your beautiful glowing skin tone. We recommend using a product which slowly builds up color so that you can control shade, intensity and get the best natural look.
Face: Start with a peeling treatment, You can go for a facial to a beauty salon or do it at home. In case you decide to go to a professional, make sure to let your facialist know when the event is and request a light treatment. However you can also do the peeling at home using a special peeling or dermabrasion kit. Exfoliating your skin will not only ensure even color from a tanning product but will also increase the potency of your current skin-care and make your skin more receptive to it. Note, better not apply the self-tanner right after the treatment. Do it the next day.
Body: If you are wearing a night dress or an open blouse use self-tanner on your body as well. This way you won’t get a contrast of a made-up glowing face and pale white shoulders and arms.
Here are a few easy tips on how to build-up that glow:
Quick-Color-Fix: Got it wrong anyway and your skin looks leopard-like? You can fix it. Lighten the deep color lines and spots by stroking it with a lemon wedge- citric acid is a natural exfoliant. You can also use a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide (it has bleaching properties). To even out white spots and lines either strategically apply your tanner just to this area or cover the spots by brushing on a matte bronzer with a blush brush.

Detoxify for this pre-party week. This will improve your health on the whole and will give your skin an extra healthy and glowing look. In addition staying away from junk food, fat, and alcohol will help you to loose some more centimeters from your waist line. Do not go to extremes but try to avoid processed foods, too much salt or sugar, coffee, red meat, alcohol and fizzy drinks. Eat organic products wherever possible and drink green tee, a powerful antioxidant.
- Off to a Hair Saloon
Get your haircut a week before the event so that it has time to “settle down”. Give your hair a special beauty boost and 2 times a week apply intensive repairing serum and nourishing energizing masks with Vitamin C and ylang ylang, avocado and cocoa oil. If your hair is dry, use hair oil for extra shine and silkiness.
- Beautify You Hands
If your hands’ skin looks stressed and dehydrated the most extravagant and stylish manicure will loose its appeal. Your hands will benefit from special beauty treatments. Two times a week before bedtime exfoliate then apply a special hydrating nourishing mask and wear gloves to bed. Your hands will look smoother, softer and hydrated.
- Pamper Your Fit
Wearing stilettos to the party? Winter makes skin on the feet extra dry and rough. Pamper your feet with a soak containing softening essential oils. Exfoliate by using a scrub and foot file on extra rough patches. For extra help with calluses apply to the effected areas a cream with Salicylic acid to reduce skin thickness. Follow up with a rich nourishing and softening moisturizer and wear socks for extra effect.
One Day Before the Event
- Mini Facial
Give yourself an at-home-facial. First, cleanse your skin. Open-up pores by applying a warm compress. Soak a soft towel in warm water. Add 2-3 drops of an essential aroma oil such as lavender oil to sooth, de-stress and refresh the skin. Press the towel to your face and inhale 3-4 times slowly and deeply to let the oil do its work and stimulate blood circulation. Repeat the procedure one or 2 more times. Instead of a hot compress you can also use a steam bath with soothing chamomile or antibacterial and antioxidant tee tree oil. After that use a mild exfoliating product selected for your skin type. Apply a hydrating and soothing mask or regeneration mask for 10-15 minutes. Wash it off and apply your moisturizer with massaging movements. Direct the movements from the center of your face outward and a bit upward. Finish up by slightly tapping with your fingertips all over your face. This express facial will stimulate blood circulation, give your skin energy and a healthy glow.
Remember, you don’t want to try out anything new just before the event.
-Express Shape-Up To loose a couple more centimeters do dry brushing before you step into the shower. After that apply an anti-cellulite patch to the target areas, let it work for several hours or overnight. These two combined can work miracles! And remember not to eat salty food. Salt will make you puffy in the morning.
-Have a Good Night’s Sleep Make sure you have plenty of sleep the night before the event. According to skin experts a good night sleep of 8-9 hours is equivalent to a beauty treatment.
Day of the Event:
Do not do anything dramatic to your skin on the day of the event. A couple hours before the party give yourself a mini facial. Cleanse your skin and apply a lifting or energizing mask. Apply your moisturizer with massaging movements to stimulate blood circulation. Do not forget to wear a powerful anti-oxidant product to protect your skin from cigarette smoke.
